The Deer Johns are a a dynamic trio of musicians hailing from Adelaide, Australia. They play a large range of music to cater to many tastes. They play a large number of instruments, including: drums, guitars, electric bass, double bass, keyboards, piano accordian, glockenspiel, harmonica, mandolin, ukelele, tambourine and cowbell (generally not at the same time). They like to blend this with three-part harmonies to create a sonorous whole.
Musical genres are not limited to the standard 3-piece cover band, with The Deer Johns successfully tackling the big names in the rock, pop, soul, jazz and blues styles.
The Deer Johns have performed at weddings, Birthday parties, Quiz Nights, Corporate Gigs, during the darkest nights of the Winter Solstice and the brightest days by swimming pools, at a range of venues including The Adelaide Oval, Semaphore Palais, Next Generation Gym and The Convention Centre.
The Deer Johns have successfully played to sell out crowds at the world’s second largest Fringe Festival, The Adelaide Festival Fringe. They have taken shows on the road to play in Melbourne and Sydney. They have organised larger groups with String Quartets and singers, brass players and brides and grooms who want to sing that “special” song to their chosen one.
In 2016, The Deer Johns ventured across to the United Kingdom to perform at Lakefest, a regional music festival featuring headline acts Primal Scream, AfroCelt Sound System and We are Scientists. Following this, they travelled to Edinburgh to perform a Music/Comedy/Theatre act at the Fringe to enthusiastic audiences.
